Thanksgiving Day is America's version of a harvest festival. The holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
Millions of Americans will join family and friends to give thanks and eat a meal with a history that is centuries old. Early European settlers in North America held other ceremonies where they gave thanks. But what Americans often consider the first Thanksgiving took place in Plymouth Colony. Today we call it Massachusetts.
Those settlers are known as the Pilgrims. They held a three-day celebration in the fall of sixteen twenty-one. They celebrated the harvest with members of a local Indian tribe.
The best known food that Americans traditionally eat on Thanksgiving is turkey. The nation's turkey producers are expected to raise two hundred forty-two million birds this year. The government says that is two percent fewer than last year. Last year's turkey production had a value of about three and a half billion dollars.
Thanksgiving turkeys are traditionally served with a bread mixture that some Americans call stuffing. Others call it dressing. Side dishes include cranberries, sweet potatoes and green beans or other vegetables. The meal traditionally ends with a dessert of pumpkin pie or pecan pie.
Some Thanksgiving foods have changed over time. For example, most turkeys these days are bred with larger breasts to provide more white meat. Corn -- known in much of the world as maize -- has also changed. It tastes much sweeter than the starchier corn of the past.
The way Americans prepare for Thanksgiving has also changed. Economist John Anderson of the American Farm Bureau Federation says people look for ways to save time, though not everyone does.
JOHN ANDERSON: "There are a lot of us who have grandmothers who would not even think of using a store-bought pie crust. And that is kind of the least of the shortcuts that we use."
He says shortcuts like buying prepared foods for the holiday are part of a bigger trend in America.
JOHN ANDERSON: "If you think about our food in general, not just Thanksgiving dinner, but our food products in general, there has been a tremendous move over the last twenty or thirty years toward more convenience products."
Some people might not have the time or the desire to prepare a big meal, or the space for a lot of guests. Whatever the reason, John Anderson notes that more people go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner than in the past.
Charity groups and religious organizations will also be busy this Thursday, serving Thanksgiving meals to the needy. The weak economy has increased the number of Americans receiving government assistance to buy food.

Brazil's Lula hails Rio police operation
The police say they are back in Complexo do Alemao to stay

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has praised a police and military operation to take control of a drug traffickers' stronghold in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
President Lula said the occupation of the Complexo do Alemao favela was just the start of a campaign to rid Rio of drugs gangs. "We will win this war," he said.
Some 2,600 police and paratroopers moved into the favela on Sunday, backed by armoured vehicles and helicopters.
President Lula said the federal government had given Rio de Janeiro state authorities everything they asked for to support the operation.
"I think this operation is proving a success. Obviously it is not over yet, it has only just begun", he said.
"The important thing is we have taken the first step. We went in, we are inside Complexo do Alemao".
President Lula added that he had already been planning to visit the favela, and would now come with "much more pleasure".
Door-to-door
The Complexo do Alemao has been a stronghold of drugs traffickers and virtual no-go area for police for decades.
But when the security forces moved in on Sunday they met less resistance than expected.
They seized weapons and large quantities of drugs, including more than 30 tonnes of marijuana and 200kg (440lb) of cocaine.
More than 40 suspects were arrested, including several alleged leaders of the drugs gangs.
We expect the police to continue the brillant job that has been done so far and hope that this can lead Brazil to a brighter future.

Biography
Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family's long tenure as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, serving from 1914 to 1931; his father has served from then until the present, and from 1960 until his death Martin Luther acted as co-pastor. Martin Luther attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he was elected president of a predominantly white senior class, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951. With a fellowship won at Crozer, he enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955. In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the family. In 1954, Martin Luther King accepted the pastorale of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Always a strong worker for civil rights for members of his race, King was, by this time, a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the leading organization of its kind in the nation. He was ready, then, early in December, 1955, to accept the leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of contemporary times in the United States, the bus boycott described by Gunnar Jahn in his presentation speech in honor of the laureate. The boycott lasted 382 days. On December 21, 1956, after the Supreme Court of the United States had declared unconstitutional the laws requiring segregation on buses, Negroes and whites rode the buses as equals. During these days of boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank.
In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization formed to provide new leadership for the now burgeoning civil rights movement. The ideals for this organization he took from Christianity; its operational techniques from Gandhi. In the eleven-year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times, appearing wherever there was injustice, protest, and action; and meanwhile he wrote five books as well as numerous articles. In these years, he led a massive protest in Birmingham, Alabama, that caught the attention of the entire world, providing what he called a coalition of conscience. and inspiring his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail", a manifesto of the Negro revolution; he planned the drives in Alabama for the registration of Negroes as voters; he directed the peaceful march on Washington, D.C., of 250,000 people to whom he delivered his address, "l Have a Dream", he conferred with President John F. Kennedy and campaigned for President Lyndon B. Johnson; he was arrested upwards of twenty times and assaulted at least four times; he was awarded five honorary degrees; was named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1963; and became not only the symbolic leader of American blacks but also a world figure.
At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.
On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.

Prince William is to marry Kate Middleton in 2011
Prince William is to marry Kate Middleton in 2011.
The Prince, who is second in line to the throne, will wed his long-term girlfriend in the spring or summer of next year.
The pair, who are both 28, became engaged last month during a holiday in Kenya.
They began dating eight years ago while studying at St Andrews University in Fife (a council area of Scotland), where they shared a house.
The engagement was announced by Clarence House (the Royal house in London).
The statement said: "The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.
"The wedding will take place in the spring or summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
"Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family.
"Prince William has also sought (asked) the permission of Miss Middleton's father.
"Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force."
The couple's long relationship became public in 2005 when they were photographed together on the Swiss ski slopes of Klosters. They split briefly in 2007.
If the pair get married in the summer of 2011, the ceremony will fall close to the 30th anniversary of the wedding of his father, Prince Charles, to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
William has given his Kate his mother's engagement ring.

THE USE OF CONDITIONALS...
Conditional 1
Situations that are always true if something happens.
NOTE
This use is similiar to, and can usually be replaced by, a time clause using 'when' (example: When I am late, my father takes me to school.)
If I am late, my father takes me to school.
She doesn't worry if Jack stays out after school.
Conditional 1 is formed by the use of the present simple in the if clause followed by a comma the present simple in the result clause. You can also put the result clause first without using a comma between the clauses.
If he comes to town, we have dinner.
OR
We have dinner if he comes to town.
Conditional 2
Often called the "real" conditional because it is used for real - or possible - situations. These situations take place if a certain condition is met.
NOTE
In the conditional 1 we often use unless which means 'if ... not'. In other words, '...unless he hurries up.' could also be written, '...if he doesn't hurry up.'.
If it rains, we will stay at home.
He will arrive late unless he hurries up.
Peter will buy a new car, if he gets his raise.
Conditional 2 is formed by the use of the present simple in the if clause followed by a comma will verb (base form) in the result clause. You can also put the result clause first without using a comma between the clauses.
If he finishes on time, we will go to the movies.
OR
We will go to the movies if he finishes on time.
Conditional 3
Often called the "unreal" conditional because it is used for unreal - impossible or improbable - situations. This conditional provides an imaginary result for a given situation.
NOTE
The verb 'to be', when used in the 2nd conditional, is always conjugated as 'were'.
If he studied more, he would pass the exam.
I would lower taxes if I were the President.
They would buy a new house if they had more money.
Conditional 3 is formed by the use of the past simple in the if clause followed by a comma would verb (base form) in the result clause. You can also put the result clause first without using a comma between the clauses.
If they had more money, they would buy a new house.
OR
They would buy a new house if they had more money.
Conditional 4
Often referred to as the "past" conditional because it concerns only past situations with hypothetical results.
Used to express a hypothetical result to a past given situation.
If he had known that, he would have decided differently.
Jane would have found a new job if she had stayed in Boston.
Conditional 4 is formed by the use of the past perfect in the if clause followed by a comma would have past participle in the result clause. You can also put the result clause first without using a comma between the clauses.
If Alice had won the competition, life would have changed
OR
Life would have changed if Alice had won the competition.
See y'all next week!!!

Miners news
The 33 miners rescued earlier this month after spending more than two months trapped underground have been honored at a special ceremony at the presidential palace in Santiago, the Chilean capital.
Chile’s President, Sebastian Pinera, hosted the ceremony and provided the 32 Chilean miners in the group with a Chilean flag. The sole Bolivian miner was awarded a Bolivian flag.
The rescued miners were also provided replicas of the capsule that brought them to the surface on October 13.
Mr. Pinera singled out for special praise Luis Urzua, who was the shift foreman when the tunnel of the San Jose mine collapsed on August 5. Urzua led the miners through the first 17 days after the collapse when they fought for survival with little food supplies and before their location was discovered by a rescue drill.
After the ceremony, the Chilean president led a a squad of government officials and rescue workers in a football match against the rescued miners. The miners lost.

HOW TO GET AN USA STUDENT VISA FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
Just getting accepted to an American college or university does not guarantee that you will get a visa. And getting a visa just lets you arrive in the United States. It does not guarantee that an immigration officer will permit you to enter the country.
If you are requesting a visa for the first time, you will probably have to go to an American embassy or consulate. You will need to bring a government form sent to you by your American school that shows you have been accepted. You will also need banking and tax records that show you have enough money to pay for your education. And be prepared to provide evidence that you will return to your home country after your studies end.
Students must contact their local embassy or consulate to request an interview and to get other information. This includes directions about how and where to pay the visa application charge. The cost is two hundred dollars.
You should apply for the visa as soon as you have been accepted to a school in the United States. The government needs time to perform a background investigation.
Once you come to the United States, you can stay for the length of your period of study. Your school is required to provide the Department of Homeland Security with reports on your status as a student.
Hope I helped... Good Luck

Business expressions
Our first expression is "in the red." It is another way of saying that a business is losing money. In the past, numbers in the financial records of a company were written in red ink to show a loss.
A business magazine recently published a report about a television company. The report said the company was still in the red, but was able to cut its loss from the year before.
A profit by a business is written in black numbers. So a company that is "in the black" is making money. An international news service reported that a private health insurer in Australia announced it was "back in the black with its first profit in three years."
Another financial expression is "run on the bank." That is what happens when many people try to withdraw all their money from a bank. A "run on the bank" usually happens when people believe there is danger a bank may fail or close.
Newspaper reports about a banking crisis in Russia used that expression. They said the government acted because of fears that the crisis would cause a run on the banks. "When a run on the banks was starting, there was not much they could do," said a banking expert.
"Day trading" is a system that lets investors trade directly on an electronic market system. The system is known as NASDAQ, short for The National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation. It was the first completely computerized stock market. It sells stocks of companies not listed on any stock exchange. Many high technology companies are listed on it.
Day trading companies provide a desk and a computer system to an investor who wants to trade. Individuals must provide fifty thousand dollars or more to the trading company to pay for the stocks they buy. Thousands of other investors do day trading from computers in their homes.
A day trader watches stock prices carefully. When he sees a stock rise in price, he uses the computer to buy shares of the stock. If the stock continues to rise in price in the next few minutes, the day trader sells the shares quickly to make a small profit. Then he looks for another stock to buy. If a stock goes down instead of up, he sells it and accepts the loss.
The idea is to make a small profit many times during the day. Day traders may buy and sell stocks hundreds of times each day.
Many day traders lose all their money in a week or so. Only about thirty percent succeed in earning enough from their efforts to continue day trading.

Active Voice, Passive Voice
There are two special forms for verbs called voice:
Active voice
Passive voice
The active voice is the "normal" voice. This is the voice that we use most of the time. You are probably already familiar with the active voice. In the active voice, the object receives the action of the verb:
active subject verb object
Cats eat fish.
The passive voice is less usual. In the passive voice, the subject receives the action of the verb:
passive subject verb object
Fish are eaten by cats.
The object of the active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb:
subject verb object
active Everybody drinks water.
passive Water is drunk by everybody.
Passive Voice
The passive voice is less usual than the active voice. The active voice is the "normal" voice. But sometimes we need the passive voice. In this lesson we look at how to construct the passive voice, when to use it and how to conjugate it.
Construction of the Passive Voice
The structure of the passive voice is very simple:
subject + auxiliary verb (be) + main verb (past participle)
The main verb is always in its past participle form.
Look at these examples:
subject auxiliary verb (to be) main verb (past participle)
Water is drunk by everyone.
100 people are employed by this company.
I am paid in euro.
We are not paid in dollars.
Are they paid in yen?
Use of the Passive Voice
We use the passive when:
we want to make the active object more important
we do not know the active subject
subject verb object
give importance to active object (President Kennedy) President Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald.
active subject unknown My wallet has been stolen. ?
Note that we always use by to introduce the passive object (Fish are eaten by cats).
Look at this sentence:
He was killed with a gun.
Normally we use by to introduce the passive object. But the gun is not the active subject. The gun did not kill him. He was killed by somebody with a gun. In the active voice, it would be: Somebody killed him with a gun. The gun is the instrument. Somebody is the "agent" or "doer".
Conjugation for the Passive Voice
We can form the passive in any tense. In fact, conjugation of verbs in the passive tense is rather easy, as the main verb is always in past participle form and the auxiliary verb is always be. To form the required tense, we conjugate the auxiliary verb. So, for example:
present simple: It is made
present continuous: It is being made
present perfect: It has been made
Here are some examples with most of the possible tenses:
infinitive - to be washed
simple present - It is washed.
past - It was washed.
future - It will be washed.
conditional - It would be washed.
continuous
present - It is being washed.
past -It was being washed.
future -It will be being washed.
conditional -It would be being washed.
perfect
simple present - It has been washed.
past -It had been washed.
future - It will have been washed.
conditional -It would have been washed.
perfect continuous
present - It has been being washed.
past - It had been being washed.
future - It will have been being washed.

Gerund...
As folks always get confused with it, there we go...
Etymology
The word 'gerund' in English comes form the Latin term gerundium, of the same meaning. Gerundium itself comes from the gerundive of the Latin verb gero, gerundus, meaning "to be carried out".
Gerunds in English
In English, the gerund is identical in form to the present participle (ending in -ing) and can behave as a verb within a clause (so that it may be modified by an adverb or have an object), but the clause as a whole (sometimes consisting of only one word, the gerund itself) acts as a noun within the larger sentence. For example: Eating this cake is easy.
In "Eating this cake is easy," "eating this cake," although traditionally known as a phrase, is referred to as a non-finite clause in modern linguistics. "Eating" is the verb in the clause, while "this cake" is the object of the verb. "Eating this cake" acts as a noun phrase within the sentence as a whole, though; it is the subject of the verb "is."
Other examples of the gerund:
I like swimming. (direct object)
Swimming is fun. (subject)
Some use "gerund" to refer to all nouns ending in -ing, but in more careful use, not all nouns ending in -ing are gerunds. The formal distinction is that a gerund is a verbal noun – a noun derived from a verb that retains verb characteristics, that functions simultaneously as a noun and a verb, while other nouns ending in -ing are deverbal nouns, which function as common nouns, not as verbs at all. Compare:
I like fencing. (gerund, an activity, could be replaced with "to fence")
The white fencing adds to the character of the neighborhood. (deverbal, could be replaced with an object such as "bench")
Double nature of the gerund
As the result of its origin and development the gerund has nominal and verbal properties. The nominal characteristics of the gerund are as follows:
The gerund can perform the function of subject, object and predicative:
Smoking endangers your health. (subject)
I like making people happy. (object)
The gerund can be preceded by a preposition:
I'm tired of arguing.
Like a noun the gerund can be modified by a noun in the possessive case, a possessive adjective, or an adjective:
I wonder at John's keeping calm.
Is there any objection to my seeing her?
Brisk walking relieves stress.
The verbal characteristics of the gerund include the following:
The gerund of transitive verbs can take a direct object:
I've made good progress in speaking English.
The gerund can be modified by an adverb:
Breathing deeply helps you to calm down.
The gerund has the distinctions of aspect and voice.
Having read the book once before makes me more prepared.
Being deceived can make someone feel angry.
I hope i've helped y'all,

Etymology
The word 'gerund' in English comes form the Latin term gerundium, of the same meaning. Gerundium itself comes from the gerundive of the Latin verb gero, gerundus, meaning "to be carried out".

Blond jokes...
I knew a blonde that...
* she called me to get my phone number.
* she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice box because it said "concentrate."
* she put lipstick on her forehead because she wanted to make up her mind.
*she tried to put M&M's in alphabetical order.
*she sent me a fax with a stamp on it.
*she tried to drown a fish.
*she got locked in a grocery store and starved to death.
*she tripped over a cordless phone.
*she took a ruler to bed to see how long she slept.
*she asked for a price check at the Dollar Store.
*she studied for a blood test.
*when she heard that 90% of all crimes occur around the home, she moved.
*when she missed the 44 bus, she took the 22 bus twice instead.
*when she took you to the airport and saw a sign that said "Airport Left" she turned around and went home

When to use a reflexive pronoun
Reflexive pronouns are used in three main situations.
1. Reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and object are the same.
I hurt myself badly.
They call themselves “The Best in Town”.
He cut himself.
2. They are used as the object of a preposition, when the subject and the object are the same.
I bought a present for myself.
He did the cake by himself. (He did it alone.)
That man is talking to himself.
3. They are used when you want to emphasize the subject.
I'll do it myself. (No one else will help me.)
They ate all the food themselves. (No one else had any.)

Prepositions...
Preposition of place (at, on, in)
Part 1: Uses of at, in, and on
In: We use in to specify that a noun (object, person etc) is inside.
Examples:
- Where is your father? He’s in the kitchen.
- Who is in the room?
- Brian was swimming in the ocean.
- Bogota is in Colombia.
.
At: We use at to refer to a “general” location.
Examples:
- Maria is at the window talking on the phone.
- Juan is at the table with his girlfriend.
- Please read the paragraph at the top of the page.
- The restaurant is at the end of German Avenue.
On: We use on when we want to say that an object or person is on the surface of another object.
Examples:
- Your books are on the shelf.
- Don’t put your hands on my head.
- There is an orange on the table.
We always say : on a horse, on a bike (bicycle) , on a motorcycle and we usually say on a plane.

The difference between diet coke and coke zero.
Both ‘Diet Cokes’ and ‘Coke Zero’ are low calorie soft drinks compared to regular coke. Both have similar ingredients which are carbonated purified water, flavour, artificial sweeteners aspartame, acesulphame potassium, preservative and caffeine.
Diet Coke came on market in 1982; preferred by many in America and became the number one sugar-free drink. Diet Coke is also known as ‘Coca-Cola light’ in some countries and it is the No. 3 soft drink in the world. It is preferred by people who want no calories, but plenty of taste. Diet coke comes in many different flavours such as Black Cherry Cola Vanilla, Cola, Cola Green Tea, Cola Lemon, Cola Lemon Lime, Cola Lime, Cola Orange and Cola Raspberry.
But Coke Zero only offers’ Coca-Cola’ taste with zero calories. It is preferred mostly by young adults and it is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace K).
So overall the only key difference between the two drinks is in the proportions of the ingredients, which actually give different flavour profile, and,in my opinion, they both taste like shit! I'd rather be chubby and drink the regular coke!!!!

Jokes
Two friends:
- What is it: it weighs 500 pounds, it provides heat during the winter but hangs on the tree during the summer?
- ???
- It is a stove.
- A stove that hangs on a tree?
- Why does it matter to you where I keep my stove during the summer.
A man at the doctors:
-Doctor, I have diarrhea and it won’t go away!
-Did you try using a lemon?
-Yes I did, but when I removed it, it started again!
In a restaurant:
A man ordered soup but, as soon as it arrived, he had to go to the bathroom. To make sure that nobody touched his soup while he is away, he wrote on a napkin: "I SPIT IN THE SOUP".
When he returned, he found another message on napkin: "ME, TOO".

Sports and its money making
American sports and the money they make. The best payed players of america... i wish i received that salary for teaching...
NFL
The National Football League is the biggest money maker in American professional sports right now, as its 32 teams earned a combined $7.6 billion in revenue last season. The average team is worth $1 billion, with the Dallas Cowboys ranking No. 1 at $1.65 billion in net worth.
League minimum salary: The league minimum in 2009 was $310,000. That figure will rise to $325,000 in 2010.
Highest-paid player: San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers earned the highest total salary in 2009 at $25.56 million, though $19.5 million of that came via a signing bonus. If you exclude signing bonuses, the Carolina Panthers' Julius Peppers (now with the Chicago Bears) had the highest annual salary in 2009 at $16.68 million.
MLB
Major League Baseball wasn't too far behind the NFL in revenue last season, just $1.7 billion below at $5.9 billion. What's $1.7 billion here and there, anyway? Well, it is just slightly more than what the New York Yankees, the most valuable team, are worth at $1.6 billion. The average team is worth $491 million.
League minimum salary: The league minimum for this season is $400,000.
Highest-paid player: Alex Rodriguez will earn the most money this season at $33 million, though the annual salary over his 10-year contract is $27.5 million. Three of the next five highest-paid players are also Yankees (C.C. Sabathia, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira), along with the Phillies' Ryan Howard and the Twins' Joe Mauer.
NBA
The final numbers have not been released for the 2009-10 season that just concluded, but the National Basketball Association made $3.8 billion in revenue the season before. The Los Angeles Lakers are the most valuable team, worth $607 million, and the average team is worth $367 million.
League minimum salary: The league minimum for the 2009-10 season was $457,588 for rookies.
Highest-paid player: Tracy McGrady earned the most money over the 2009-10 season at $23.24 million.
NHL
Like the NBA, the 2009-10 season just finished and the final numbers haven't been released, but the National Hockey League made $2.82 billion the previous year. The average franchise is worth $223 million, with the Toronto Maple Leafs ranking No. 1 at $470 million.
League minimum salary: The minimum salary was $500,000 for the 2009-10 season.
Highest-paid player: Vincent Lecavalier earned the most of any player at $10 million, exactly $1 million more than Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin, the three players tied for second.
WNBA
Exact numbers for the Women's National Basketball Association's value are tough to come by, but it's no secret that the league is struggling. Attendance is down 20 percent from when the league first started in 1997, and there are only 12 teams right now, compared with the 16 that existed in 2000.
League minimum salary: The minimum salary for players with zero to two years of service is $35,190. Players who've been in the league for at least three years can earn no less than $51,000.
Highest-paid player: The maximum salary for a WNBA player is $99,500, a figure that a number of players earn.
MLS
Unlike the leagues for the other major sports in America, Major League Soccer is far from the most lucrative league in its given sport around the globe. Still, it's managed to stay afloat since its inaugural season in 1996.
League minimum salary: The minimum salary this season is $40,000.
Highest-paid player: David Beckham will earn the most money of any player this season, $6.5 million, despite the fact that he's been out all year with a torn Achilles' tendon. Landon Donovan ranks second at $2.13 million.
Golf, racing, tennis and boxing are all lucrative sports as well, though they're each individual based, with earnings based on performance at given events. Thus, no annual salaries exist.Imagine if we got only half of that money...

The videos!
We got two videos down below, we want you to watch them in sequence.Watch the first, then the second.... have fun!!
Why do we put on so much weight???
Seven ways why you put on weight...
1. Going on holiday
When you're eating out, it can be hard to know how many calories you're consuming. So, you should have some light food like fruits and salads instead...
2. Drinking too much alcohol
A full glass of beer contains 250 calories!!! Aim to have at least two alcohol-free days each week.
3. Feeling stressed
Researchers found that speacially women who were the most stressed put on the most weight. Watch out on what you are eating...
4. Watching TV
We tend to be looking at the screen while eating and we pay less attention to what we're putting in our mouths...
5. Not getting enough sleep
Well people, lack of sleep increases levels of the hormone ghrelin which makes you feel hungry. You don't need to be an expert to know that. If you're not getting enough, try and add in an extra hour's sleep a night and see how different you feel after a week!
6. Larger portion sizes
Try ordering two starters instead of a starter and main course, saying no to bread and side orders, or choosing two courses instead of three.
7. Gentle exercise
Jogging for an hour will use 390 calories, tennis 430 and cycling 370. Make sure that you don't replace all of these calories with food after exercising.
See you next time!!!

Yes! i'm from the eighties... how'bout you fellah?
I am a child of the eighties. That is what I prefer to be called. The nineties can do without me. Grunge isn't here to stay, fashion is fickle and "Generation X" is a myth created by some over-40 writer trying to figure out why people wear flannel in the summer.
When I got home from school, I played with my Atari 2600. I spent hours playing Pitfall or Combat or Breakout or Dodge'em Cars or Frogger. I never beat Asteroids. Then I watched "Scooby-Doo." Daphne was a Goddess, and I thought Shaggy was smoking something in the back of their psychedelic van. I hated Scrappy.
I would sleep over at friends' houses on the weekends. We played army with G.I. Joe figures, and I set up galactic wars between Autobots and Decepticons. We stayed up half the night throwing pillows and paper balls at one another. We never beat the Rubik's Cube.
I got up on Saturday mornings at 7 a.m. to watch bad Hanna-Barbera cartoons like "Snorks," "Jabberjaw," "Captain Caveman," and "Space Ghost." On weeknights Daisy Duke was my future wife. At the movies or "sessão da tarde" the Nerds Got Revenge on the Alpha Betas by teaming up with the Omega Mus. I watched Indiana Jones save the Ark of the Covenant, and wondered what Yoda meant when he said, "No, there is another."
Ronald Reagan was cool, Sarney was crap!!Gorbachev was the guy who built a McDonalds in Moscow. My family took summer vacations to cabo frio or angra dos reis.My Sister and I fought in the back seat. At the hotel we found creative uses for Connect Four pieces like throwing them in that big air conditioning unit.
I listened to John Lennon sing about peace and cazuza being so crazy. RPM was cool. I was bewildered by Boy George and the colors of his dreams, red, gold, and green. MTV played videos. Nickelodeon played "You Can't Do That on Television" " doug funny "and "Dangermouse." Cor! HBO showed Mike Tyson pummel everybody except Robin Givens, the bad actress from "Head of the Class" who took all Mike's cashflow.
I drank Dr. Pepper. "I'm a Pepper, you're a Pepper, wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?" Orange juice wasn't just for breakfast anymore, and bacon had to move over for something meatier.
My mom put a thousand Little Mirabels in my Charlie Brown lunch box, and filled my Snoopy Thermos with grape Kool-Aid. I would never eat the snack cakes, though. Did anyone? I got two thousand cheese and cracker snack packs, and I ate those.
I went to school and had recess. I went to the same classes everyday. Some weird guy from the eighth grade always won the science fair with the working hydro-electric plant that leaked on my project about music and plants. They just loved Beethoven.
Field day was bigger than Christmas, but it always managed to rain just enough to make everybody miserable before they fell over in the three-legged race. Where did all those panty hose come from? "Deck the Halls with Gasoline, fa la la la la la la la la," was just a song. Burping was cool. Rubber band fights were cooler. A substitute teacher was a baby sitter/marked woman. Nobody deserved that.
I went to Cub Scouts. I got my arrow-of-light, but never managed to win the Pinewood Derby. I got almost every skill award but don't remember ever doing anything.
The world stopped when the Challenger exploded.
Did a teacher come in and tell your class?
Half of your friends' parents got divorced.
People did not just say no to drugs.
AIDS started, but you knew more people who had a grandparent die from cancer.
Somebody in your school died before they graduated.
When you put all this stuff together, you have my childhood. If this stuff sounds familiar, then I bet you are one, too.
We are children of the eighties. That is what I prefer "they" call it.

Writing tips!
Writing is one of the most feared skills for both student and teacher. Students are reluctant to write for fear of making errors, whereas errors are very crucial in the learning process. “To err is human”, as we say. However, Teachers find writing an intricate task to deal with, as it takes a lot of effort on their part to implement a good writing activity. Let’s make writing simple: Keep it simple and stupid! When you write, don’t try to be Shakespeare, be just yourself and try to write as simply as possible.
To understand writing, we should know the different types of writing that students get in the baccalaureate exam. There are four fundamental types of essays that students are supposed to know:
• Cause and Effect Essay

Each Essay comprises five or four paragraphs. And it is very important to use the linking words because they add a flavour to the essay like spices to a dish. So, it's time for writing! Get going and make a nice composition, then, send it to me!
I hope i've helped a little!
